Events
A standardized and categorized checkpoint message that represents a physical scan or exception during the logistics and transportation of a package. Each event is associated with a timestamp and tracking number, providing location and status details. Events may include a reason for the exception, and they are linked to specific phases or statuses in the shipment's transportation journey.
The list below explains the different events.

rerouted | The shipment’s delivery address has been changed | In Transit |
dropped_off_at_collection_point | The shipment has been dropped off at a collection point for the customer to collect it | Available For Pickup |
delivery_attempt_failed | The carrier visited the customer’s address but could not leave the package | Failed Attempt |
redelivery_scheduled | Another delivery time has been scheduled following a failed delivery attempt | Failed Attempt |
delivered_to_a_location | The shipment has been delivered to the address or specified location | Delivered |
delivered_to_neighbor | The shipment has been left with a neighbor | Delivered |
held_by_customs | The shipment has been held at customs | Exception |
misrouted | The shipment has arrived at an incorrect address or checkpoint. The carrier must reroute the package | Exception |
rejected_by_customer | Delivery of the shipment failed as the customer refused to accept the package | Exception |
return_to_sender_requested | The customer has requested to return the shipment to the sender | Exception |
returned_to_sender | The shipment has been returned to the sender | Exception |
shipment_lost | The shipment was lost | Exception |
canceled | The shipment has been voided or canceled by the sender or carrier | Exception |
shipment_damaged | The shipment was damaged | Exception |
picked_up | The shipment has been picked up by the carrier | In Transit |
signed_by_customer | The shipment has been delivered and signed for by the customer | Delivered |
Reasons

Reason code | Description |

absent_customer | The customer was not at the given address |
business_closed | The business was closed at the time of delivery |
customer_moved | The customer is no longer at the given address |
unclaimed | The shipment was not collected by the customer |
prohibited_items | The shipment has been found to include prohibited items |
no_access_to_delivery_location | The carrier had no access to the delivery location at the time of delivery |
incorrect_missing_address | The shipment has an incorrect or missing address |
failed_to_allocate_driver | The carrier was unable to allocate a driver for the shipment |
extreme_weather | The area is experiencing extreme weather that may affect delivery |
outside_delivery_limits | The shipment has arrived at a carrier facility that no longer covers the customer’s address |
not_what_customer_ordered | The customer informed the carrier that they did not order the items in this shipment |
package_oversized_overweight | The package is oversized and/or overweight |
